Dutch Royal State Yacht Mary

The yacht Mary was built in the Dutch East Indian company as a gift from the city of Amsterdam for King Charles II in celebration of the restoration to the English Throne from in 1660.He used the ship extensively there after. This 100 ton masted was heavy but intended for Speed and comfort, because of the first recorded racing vessel A yacht from the word “jacth” (Dutch for”hunt”) was originally defined as the fast light sailing vessel used by the Dutch Navy to pursue pirates and their transgressors into the shallow waters of the Low Countries. After Mary served as a vessel to carry Charles II to his Restoration in England, the term “yacht” came to be refer to as a vessel used to convey important persons.
